<dthompson>jfred: hahaha yeah you're right
<dthompson>"how hard could it be?"
<av0n>also worth mentioning with all this data sync talk! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHvIEFy1v5A
<theruran>this was insightful: https://spidermonkey.dev/blog/2025/10/28/iongraph-web.html
<theruran>they looked at Graphviz's algorithm, and said, "this sucks (for compiler SSA graph visualization)"
<theruran>improving one graph visualization from 10 minutes in Graphviz to 20 milliseconds
<dthompson>theruran: I didn't have time to read that fully yesterday but I'm very interested because goblins uses graphviz to visualize causal order of events
<dthompson>av0n: interesting! I'm only vaguely familiar with croquet but anything smalltalk has my attention
<dthompson>even though I don't think image-based systems with orthogonal persistence are the right thing, ultimately
<dthompson>office hours happening now! https://community.spritely.institute/t/next-office-hours-on-10-29/772
<noe>I’m interested to know more about the “Persistent Storage for Goblins” nlnet grant. It looks awesome but I haven’t seen much info around it.
<noe>Is it spritely people doing it?
<dthompson>noe: two non-spritely employees applied for that grant
<dthompson>one of which is pukkamustard who works on ERIS
<dthompson>so the grant is to explore integrating ERIS with Goblins
<noe>Ooooh that makes a lot of sense
<noe>I’m a big pukkamustard fan
<jfred>On the subject of Navi and looking at similar app-within-an-app type things, I was pleasantly surprised recently to see how far along Delta Chat has gotten with WebXDC. It's very good!
<pukkamustard>o/
<pukkamustard>the plan was to start working on the "Persistent Storage for Goblins" grant in november. however, my current project was extended to end of january, delaying work on the grant by a few months.
<pukkamustard>i hope to post more information on what work is planned with context on the ERIS mailing list (https://lists.sr.ht/~pukkamustard/eris)
