<sneek>dthompson, mwette says: my cdata package: https://www.nongnu.org/nyacc/cdata.html
<dthompson>sneek: botsnack
<sneek>:)
<sneek>dthompson: wb!
<weary-traveler>dthompson: cwebber if i have questions regd. contract prospects with spritely whom should i reach out to? especially interested in projects that focus on one or more of: programming language design, machine learning (not just deep learning). i also have a growing interest in build systems, but i wouldn't call myself proficient in it
<cwebber>weary-traveler: email jobs@spritely.institute and say you're interested in being informed about future job opportunities
<weary-traveler>ack; thanks

<wizard>hihi :)
<dthompson>hey wizard welcome abord!
<wizard>hiho
<wizard>it's "back to figuring out how to get the 4th recurive dependency for trial working" time for me
<dthompson>yeah seems like shinmera has created quite the dependency graph for trial
<dthompson>they're *prolific* when it comes to releasing CL libraries
<wizard>i wish i had that much energy
<dthompson>yeah same
<dthompson>ACTION looks at stack of side projects
<dpk>make your side projects into part of your unpaid job as a politician: become chair of a programming language standards committee!
<dpk>speaking of which, *cough* this isn’t publically announced yet (as you can tell by the very fictional date on the cover), but … https://r7rs.org/large/fascicles/macro/1/
<dpk>for a real announcement i am literally *just* waiting for the controller of the scheme-reports.org domain to set up the MX record so we have a proper mailing list again. i’m tired of waiting for that, so have at it if you’re interested
<cwebber>hi wizard ! :)
<wizard>o/
<dthompson>dpk: !!
<dthompson>thank you for introducing me to the word "fascicle" as I had never heard of it before reading stuff you wrote
<dpk>historical linguists have a long tradition of breaking up big texts into fascicles to publish :-)
<dpk>if computer people know the word already they might know it from Knuth, who is publishing TOACP volume 4 in fascicles
<dpk>but he also got the word from historical linguistics (from the OED, the first edition of which came out in fascicles from 1884 to 1928)
<dthompson>dpk: ah see, the problem is that I'm a buffoon so it's my first exposure to the word :)
<dpk>yay buffoonery!
<dthompson>I've opened many a buffoon pack in Balatro lately thanks to cwebber
<cwebber>lol
<cwebber>I am not to blame for getting people into Balatro or Slay the Spire or any other deckbuilder time wasters
<cwebber>okay I am to blame for dthompson getting into it nm
<dpk>hehe
