<cwebber>we had stuck with the older version for 2 reasons previously:

<cwebber>1) it was the default in guix, for a while

<cwebber>2) there were some bugs involving tracebacks leading to programs hanging, amongst other things. latest goblins now has a workaround that "filters out" those exception issues and also wingo fixed those in upstream guile/fibers (not yet released yet tho)
