<drakonis>newspeak, a smalltalk dialect, is influenced by E
<RandyFarmer[m]>There are threads connecting E with Smalltalk.
<RandyFarmer[m]>I don't know many of the personally, but one runs through a the first girl I invited to my 12 year old birthday boy-girl party when I was growing up in Michigan.

<ramin_hal9001>Hey guys, I have only just started playing around with Goblins but I can already see how incredibly amazing it is! I can see entire desktop environments being built with this fully integrated with social networking. Very cool!
<ramin_hal9001>I was curious, has anyone tried using Guile Goblins with the Guile-GI toolkit -- that is the Guile interface to GObject Introspection? Is this planned work at the Spritely Institute?
<ramin_hal9001>Like, are there plans to work Spritely into Gtk user interfaces?
<ramin_hal9001>s/Spritely/Goblins/
<jfred>Drat, was going to tell them about the guile port of goblin-chat doing that but looks like they've left
<jfred>sneek: tell ramin_hal9001 The Guile port of goblin-chat does this, though with g-golf rather than guile-gi: https://gitlab.com/spritely/guile-goblin-chat/-/blob/main/goblin-chat/glib-vat.scm
<sneek>ramin_hal9001, jfred says: The Guile port of goblin-chat does this, though with g-golf rather than guile-gi: https://gitlab.com/spritely/guile-goblin-chat/-/blob/main/goblin-chat/glib-vat.scm
<jfred>...that did not do what I thought it would do
<flatwhatson>sneek: later tell jfred it's "later tell"
<sneek>Got it.
<jfred>Ahhhh
<sneek>jfred, you have 1 message!
<sneek>jfred, flatwhatson says: it's "later tell"
<flatwhatson>:)
<jfred>Reading an article this morning (https://digest.browsertech.com/archive/browsertech-digest-the-webassembly-rift/) that has me thinking: could guile on webassembly help with the implementation of that capability-safe module system that's planned? I'm wondering if being able to build on WASI would be helpful
<jfred>Since it's already being designed with capabilities in mind, unlike POSIX
<Zarutian_iPad>so ocapn meeting item: have cwebber or tsyekia read the agoric passStyle documentation
<Zarutian_iPad>?
