<diegonc1>If anyone uses msolve, here's a little patch for it awaiting to be merged :) <Alicia>idk the low level causes, but 64bit Hurd gets strange errors with the default qemu machine profile with higher amounts of RAM (over 3G iirc) <daniil>how to run gnu hurd on core 2 quad <etno>daniil, I would start by looking at the available distros. Personally, I mostly use the debian ports. As for the specifics of your machine, one issue could come from EFI. While there is work ongoing to have EFI boot capability, Hurd still requires a legacy BIOS. What do you have on your machine ? <daniil>etno: my configuration is next: gigabyte ga g31m es2l, 4GB ram, SATA hdd and USB flash drive as installation media. I also use Debian GNU/Hurd <daniil>however, i get piixide0: unexpected interrupt <etno>If you get to the stage where something gets printed, then you likely are past the boot, and EFI is not an issue. <daniil>when it starts rumpdisk during scanning installation media, it throws infinite unexpected interrupt <etno>I am afraid that we might already be beyond my competencies <etno>Although, this reminds me of the possibility in some BIOS to switch between AHCI and IDE mode for the disk controller. Maybe that gets you further ? <daniil>I tried switching it to every mode <daniil>(anyways, this motherboard only supports legacy IDE mode) <etno>I must admit that I never used the debian installer, but always put a disk image directly on the disk <etno>It would be great to find the root cause of your issue, which would affect potentially a lot of people <daniil>i think the main reason is motherboard ide controller <Alicia>never impossible. but it may require coding <GNU_Hurd_Rocks>Alicia: this could possibly be a limitation of the controller though <GNU_Hurd_Rocks>this chip controls practically everything on the board, including SATA, but I think it's limited to IDE instead of AHCI, "NVIDIA Corporation MCP61 SATA Controller [10de:03f6]" <GNU_Hurd_Rocks>I also thought this thing was PCIe 3.0 but I guess it only supports 1.0
