<jab`>Phodius: if this is your first time using the hurd, and if you are using it virtually, it's just easier to boot the already existing image. <Phodius>ive got it booting am at the console <youpi>azeem: I have pushed the patch <youpi>the issue with htl/tst-cancel32 is unrelated, just uncovered by this patch <Phodius>its not letting me type it lets me login but sometime after its stop letting me type any solutions thanks <Phodius>i launched it on windows 11 through qemu usingĀ & "C:\Program Files\qemu\qemu-system-x86_64.exe" -m 2G -hda debian-hurd-amd64-20250807.img im not on my linux system just now <jab`>I personally have never run the Hurd on windows. If you can't get it to work, try running it on qemu on linux. <nexussfan>QEMU should run the same on Windows/NT and GNU/Linux afaik <azeem>youpi: many thanks, I've just tested that it fixes the Postgres testsuite hang <azeem>maybe also the other, rare, issues with signals <youpi>any signal handler that would use a function that is a cancellable point was deemed to sometimes hang indeed <gnu_srs2>For patches to build software mesa, 25.3.3-1, on GNU/Hurd, both i386 and amd64, especially with solutions for i386. <gnu_srs2>Probably mesa-25.2.8-2 from unstable works fine too. <sobkas>Phodius: There should be link to binaries I have build in the past, and source code <gnu_srs2>Phodius: I can send debs if you like too. <gnu_srs2>sobkas: I could not find anything sent by you to the bug-hurd ML. <sobkas>gnu_srs2: Because I didn't, link to binaries should be in irc logs <Phodius>thanks gnu_srs2 I will check it out, I`ve got it running on Linux...... <phodius>gnu_srs how do i apply the patch with latest mesa? or which version of mesa do i use? <Pellescours>I just tried to boot gnumach smp on all cpus (with commit creating 2 cpu pools reverted). Good news, it booted. Bad news, when I login "zsh timeout" <Pellescours>And ssh seems to works, I have the motd displayed but also "zsh timeout"
