<ZhaoM>Hi I am quite curious about the current status of Hurd project
<ZhaoM>I found some information on this url https://www.gnu.org/software/hurd/index.html#index5h1
<ZhaoM>but I suspect it is quite out of date as some links on the websites are out of date while I was reading the introduction and some documentation for beginners
<youpi>ZhaoM: please see the faq mentioned in the topic
<ZhaoM>youpi: http://darnassus.sceen.net/~hurd-web/faq/ or https://www.gnu.org/s/hurd/faq.html? I don't know why I cannot connect to the former one, but the latter one says the former one is update to date
<youpi>the former is usually more up to date
<ZhaoM>I see. I can connect to it now. Thanks :)
<gnucode>hello friends!
<gnucode>apparently systemd is moving away from dbus to varlink
<gnucode> https://www.phoronix.com/news/Systemd-Varlink-D-Bus-Future
<gnucode>sneek later tell ZhaoM The Hurd project is really useable! I edit the Hurd wiki, render changes, view the resulting webpages, and send the git changes from a Hurd running on a Thinkpad T43 with 1.5 GB of RAM.
<sneek>Will do.
<gnucode>sneek later tell ZhaoM I hope to install it on a T60 shortly. More RAM, faster processor, all that good stuff.
<sneek>Will do.
<damo22>gnucode: if you install hurd onto a disk, it should just work on a x200
<damo22>even if the installer might be broken
