<flurando>hi, guys, I found that guix deploy could not import ssh key of type ssh_mldsa_ed25519@openssh.com, even though I can ssh with my remote machine with this key explicitly. Is this a feature not implemented, or not planned or a bug? <sneek>Welcome back flurando, you have 1 message! <sneek>flurando, JazzJackalope says: Re: qemu, I use Guix with it but I didn't quite come to it through the docs. I learned it from using frontends like virt-manager and aqemu <flurando>though it might not be important for guix deploy, where leaving secrets in the /gnu/store is bad practice to be avoided, I still feel bit of unpleasant as guix deploy seems to be using an out-dated bundled implementation of ssh. Anyway, I used to think guix deploy makes use of the openssh installation on system. <flurando>Mmm, it seems that guix deploy use guile-ssh, which wraps libssh somehow, and libssh does not support these new public key algorithms. I think guix deploy should expose an option to let user choose how to connect to the machine to be deployed, just like the --rsh in rsync. <flurando>Leave the usage of internal guile-ssh only when user left this as default, and allow using a specified user chosen remote shell. <lechner>flurando: Isn't that an experimental algorithm? <Icy-Thought>but the import crate is lovely, tysm to the people that worked on it! <coopi>sooo, could someone with appropriate access, please approve coopi's pending mail to info-guix ?? <coopi>it should currently be in moderation limbo <untrusem>sneek later tell nckx to approve coopi's email to info-guix <ilux>sneek later tell rms chat with us ;) <gnufairy>The default compiler is GNU GCC 14.03, while the lastest in the tree is 16.02 is there a way for me to use the newer compiler as the default? <Icy-Thought>(don't hesitate to ping me and tell me if you know pls) <Icy-Thought>now here is a question... where do we store rust archived stuff instead of rust-crates? because it's nto a crate per say <dariqq>that looks like a (architecture specific) binary, so youd probably need to rebuild it <sham1>Yeah. That needs to be rebuilt <dariqq>efraim: Do you happen to have ppc32 bootstrapped and could recheck libxcrypt tests? <efraim>I'd have to plug the computer back in and see what's currently built there <efraim>I don't think I'd be able to check before Sunday <dariqq>no problem, I can try with qemu but i need to bootstrap first and Ive sometimes had issues with qemu-only failures <Icy-Thought>hmmm, time to figure out how to do that... rust packages are tricky lol <illybytes>hi, anyone else had their yggdrasil service just disappear? <dariqq>hmm findutils-boot0 is just stuck in tests for 1h. I guess I tried and is a qemu limitation <marty>ieure: mullvad vpn is not entirely working. i'm working through some issues. what's nice is i have a working debian install to compare settings. from what i'm seeing, the mullvad-vpn app on debian/ubuntu uses the direct 'wg' cli tool. The 'wireguard-tools' package does install those cli tools so i'll be investigating using that instead of nmcli. <marty>i'm thinking its related to systemd-resolved <marty>luckily i have alot of motivation to work around lennart poettering <marty>as they say, "it's always dns" lol <bjc>i've been running my own dns for over 20 years, and i have to say that ime it's almost never dns <bjc>i do avoid weirdness like split horizon, though. the few times i've used it have been a hassle <bjc>closer to 30 actually <bjc>time is a harsh mistress <bjc>in fact, i got my first domain 30 years ago last april, come to think of it <bjc>had to email a form to network solutions back then =) <bjc>it's been through many registrars and hardware in that time, but it's still bind <bjc>just bind9 instead of 4 <marty>curl and ping work to external sites but browser does not. so, maybe its firewall related. <marty>looks like guix uses iptables? <marty>it seems that ingress may be getting blocked <digipot>What does "guile: warning: failed to install locale" indicate upon startup of my shell? <jlicht>I'm running into some issues w.r.t. some system tests that have no network and depend on e.g. the "hello" derivation being identical between current-guix and packaged-guix <jlicht>is that a known/deliberate thing? <orahcio>Hi jlicht, if you have a momment, could you take a look at #11398? <illybytes>untrusem: ty for the response, didnt see it cus goguma jank <illybytes>but really wish it supported chat history in the ircv3 sense :p <lechner>Or you can run a personal Soju bouncer.. <mra>oh, deliberation on GCD 009 just began <mra>guess i should finally read it... <bjc>fsvo satire, i guess <mra>gcd 009 is on generalizing the bootloader spec. it doesn't look like satire? <bremner>hrm. I thought people already got mad about gcd09, but maybe it wasn't a real gcd <mra>oh, i see. someone submitted a joke gcd 009, and the number got reused <mra>there's currently a gcd 009 open as a PR on codeberg, and it isn't satire <protvin>guix time-machine: error: could not authenticate commit 4ccb4eaebdacfd8bb9d36a406445f56a23359e30: key 5D54 CF25 57B2 38E8 8DC1 80A2 2D22 3241 0AB7 4043 is missing <untrusem>protvin: what is the command you are runningo <protvin>I am running build testament iso image <protvin>I change guix channel to: (url (string-append "file:///home/protvin/src/guix")) <protvin>(commit "28d03477094c670b3ba537c308518420d1786aa8")
