<msglm>Hello there, I'm trying to work on some GPU accelerated guix work using rocm in a home computer, but I noticed that the rocm package definitions do not have gfx1100 as a supported architecture. Are there any plans to add this as a supported architecture? In theory it should be as simple as appending gfx1100 to the usual list of targets (like
<msglm>gfx1030 or gfx90a).
<msglm>If there are no plans, how would I go about compiling the toolchain along with libomp to support this architecture? Is there a macro of some kind to create the toolchain I can easily define?
<civodul>comrades, i’ve pushed ‘CODEOWNERS’ files on Codeberg, created teams…
<civodul>amazing
<civodul>i feel like living in the future
<civodul>better than flying cars!
<civodul>next step: CI
<rekado>are you dreaming of moving Guix from Savannah to Codeberg?
<civodul>possibly! you read in my mind :-)
<rekado>I bet this would make many people happy
<civodul>i think it could help address some of our problems: triaging, onboarding, CI, etc.
<civodul>yeah
<civodul>would you be one of them?
<rekado>I'm happy whenever the project does something that doesn't hurt old-timers but improves the experience for people born after 1890.
<rekado>so I'd be nodding in quiet approval
<civodul>heh, ok
<civodul>until then, we can see how that goes with smaller projects
<rekado>I can image there would be a number of concerns raised by those who prefer to keep things as they are.
<rekado>mostly boiling down to the hosting organization: FSF vs Codeberg e.V.
<rekado>I'm not looking forward to a discussion about this, so I hope that our experience will be overwhelmingly positive so we have good stories to tell.
<rekado>do you know anyone at Codeberg?
<civodul>no, i don’t
<civodul>i don’t really expect “FSF vs. Codeberg” discussions actually
<civodul>but yeah, we’ll see
<civodul>(plus i think we’d have all the reasons to view Codeberg e.V. as a sister org)
