<ArneBab>ane: yes, Lilypond is pretty awesome. And with some struggling, it’s usable for laypeople (like me). I consider it to be in the league of blender and obs (open broadcast studio) — top of the crop of its domain, though its domain is less well known than those other two. And it’s built on Guile: we should treasure it (and I do).
<old>what's the purpose of in-vicinity?
<dsmith>old, Isn't that something like current directory or the dir where this file is?
<old>idk. I have no idea what vicinity mean in english
<old>"in proximity" oh well that does not help either
<mwette>I read the lilypond essay. It was very interesting.
<mwette>My house is in the vicinity of my next door neighbor; In ordered integers, 9 is in the vicinity of 8.
<mhcat>nearby
<old>in the context for a directory and a path
<old>I think one could have come with a better naming
<mwette>I like it.
<dsmith>I never liked it because the word is kind of vague. How close is "near"? Right nest to?
<dsmith>The code of course has a very specific meaning, But the *name* doesn't cause me to think "in the same directory"
<dsmith>But what would be a better name?
<sneek>dsmith: wb!
<sneek>ArneBab: wb!!
