<roconnor>The linked video on programming eeproms using dip switches was pretty cool too.
<roconnor>I'm not a hardware guy, but the video was pretty suggestive that you can take your dip switch programming eeprom board, and program a bunch of eeproms to bootstrap your bigger better steadyhand eeprom programing board using eeproms as your logic chips.
<matrix_bridge><Jeremiah Orians> Yeah, once you have any trusted hardware; there is a path to making more powerful trusted hardware and being able to support even more abstract programming languages and better software.
<matrix_bridge><Jeremiah Orians> It is usually the first few hundred bytes needed to bootstrap everything that is painful. But it looks good enough to make an 8kB ROM (which is big enough for the 8088 IBM BIOS) (although wozmon is a cool hack.)
<AwesomeAdam54321>New release of bas from gtker: https://codeberg.org/gtker/bas/releases/tag/v0.1.1
<matrix_bridge><gtker> AwesomeAdam54321: Sorry for the spam, you probably got a whole lot of notifications while I tried getting my CI setup working ;)
<matrix_bridge><gtker> Does anyone know if there are prebuilt cc_* binaries that are always current somewhere?
<matrix_bridge><Andrius Štikonas> Probably no
<matrix_bridge><wildwestrom> @irc_libera_alganet:stikonas.eu: Amazing!
<matrix_bridge><wildwestrom> Initially I wanted to avoid using C at all, but I think I'll just use it as scaffolding.
<roconnor>what is amazing?
<jackdk>Might have been https://codeberg.org/interrupt_tv/steadyhand ?
