<ekaitz>hi all! can anyone provide me a reference of a trusting trust attack that happened in the wild?
<ekaitz>I know it has been tried in the wild but I can't find a link to it
<muurkha> https://niconiconi.neocities.org/posts/ken-thompson-really-did-launch-his-trusting-trust-trojan-attack-in-real-life/
<muurkha>Apparently a couple of machines were infected in real life, according to mail Jay Ashworth posted from ken
<muurkha>the Wikipedia page on the attack also has some examples of viruses that targeted compilers and infected the executables they generated
<muurkha>but I'm still undecided on whether that's really the same thing or not
<ekaitz>thank you muurkha
<muurkha>happy to help
<ekaitz>:)
<muurkha>how have you been? I haven't seen much from you here lately
<ekaitz>I got married in mid december
<ekaitz>I've been busy with that
<ekaitz>now I'm preparing a talk for Fosdem
<muurkha>oh yeah, I'm doing that in March
<muurkha>getting married, not giving a talk at FOSDEM
<ekaitz>muurkha: congratulations mate, it's really cool to be loved
<muurkha>yes, loving and being loved is wonderful, and I'm a fan of marriage too
<ekaitz>:)
<muurkha>but maybe that's off-topic and I don't want to end up in another accidental offtopic flamewar
<muurkha>I need to get out of the house and go pay the rent!
<Hagfish>go together like a horse and carriage ;-)
<muurkha>yeah, I couldn't help but think of the sitcom, though I think the version here in Argentina uses a different theme song
