<oriansj>stikonas: well eventually we will hit the wall on UEFI and have to jump to a real kernel
<oriansj>just like I don't expect to make it all the way to GCC on CP/M
<muurkha>unlikely, though DJ Delorie got pretty close with DJGPP
<muurkha>MS-DOS isn't CP/M but it's a lot closer to CP/M than it is to Unix
<oriansj>muurkha: I thought it was a spin of GCC that ran on DOS, but couldn't self-host
<muurkha>hmm, I hadn't ever heard DJGPP couldn't self-host. Do you mean it couldn't compile itself, that you had to cross-compile it from a Unix system?
<oriansj>muurkha: that is approximately what I read but I could be wrong.
<muurkha>I never used DJGPP because I never had an MS-DOS system of my own; as soon as I had my own computer it was running Linux
<muurkha>but I have the impression that it is capable of compiling itself
<oriansj>The first computer I ever owned, was running PC-BSD
<muurkha>that sounds vaguely familiar
<oriansj>mostly because it had Warzone2100 packaged and I freaking love that game
<oriansj>which reminds me, it is nearly time for the most import test of Guix (can it properly run Warzone2100)
<muurkha>haha
<oriansj>well it does the tutorial ok but error |20:22:38: [khr_callback:1787] GL::API(Error:High) : GL_INVALID_ENUM in glGetIntegerv(pname=GL_MAJOR_VERSION) is showing up in the logs.
<oriansj>and it doesn't go full screen for some reason
<oriansj>might have to tweak i3 to work around that
<muurkha>sounds like an OpenGL version mismatch
<oriansj>just need to wait for my son to go to bed before I can seriously test out its ability to really game.
<oriansj>you know what, I think he should go to bed now; for totally unrelated reasons...
