<stikonas>fossy: libtool-1.4_0.tar.gz: FAILED
<stikonas>there are probably more reproducibility issues
***genr8eofl_ is now known as genr8eofl
<ekaitz>hi all who is the author of this? https://codeberg.org/StefanK/MinimalBinaryBoot
<ekaitz>it's a really interesting project!
<AwesomeAdam54321>ekaitz: From the license header in MinimalBinaryBoot/tools/reverse-octal.py, the author's name is Dr. Stefan Karrman
<ekaitz>what I meant was if he was here in this room
<ekaitz>but thanks! :)
<PureTryOut[m]>Hey hey I love this project! Recently I've had a need to use Dart/Flutter for work but the Dart compiler is written in, you guessed it, Dart. I run a system which can't run that compiler due to it being linked to glibc so I have been resorting to containers. I wanted to look into compiling Dart myself somehow, probably by starting from a way earlier version, but I have trouble finding a version that was compiled using a compiler in
<PureTryOut[m]>some other language. Has anyone looked into this yet?
<mbakke>PureTryOut (matrix.org): it appears someone has successfully bootstrapped Dart 2.8.4 for Guix, but the patches were apparently never merged: https://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=44926
<PureTryOut[m]>Thanks for the pointer! It's a start at least.
<PureTryOut[m]>Did the author lose interest?
<mbakke>PureTryOut (matrix.org): I don't know; it seems they are still active on Guix mailing lists, so perhaps you can reach out and ask :)
<PureTryOut[m]>The author mentioned they would submit a v2 the next day, did that ever happen? I find it hard to look through mailing lists like that...
<mbakke>PureTryOut (matrix.org): here is a better interface with the v2 thread: https://patches.guix-patches.cbaines.net/project/guix-patches/list/?series=5921
<mbakke>normally I'd link to issues.guix.gnu.org, but it has some problems with that particular issue
<PureTryOut[m]>that last one is more readable indeed
