<oriansj>one warning for those using untar.c is it does *NOT* preserve file permissions but sets file permissions to the environmental default (usually 644 or 640 depending on your umask) So binaries in tar files become non-executable by default <oriansj>I figure this is a non-issue as one should only be downloading source code and building from it not distributing binaries. <stikonas>and we also replace untar with GNU tar 1.12 fairly quickly <stikonas>untar.c is needed only for early stuff (I think only for tar, gzip, two versions of tcc, mes and possibly messcc-tools-extra <stikonas>we need to replace old channel with this one <stikonas>do you remember where this web site lives <stikonas>and regarding non-executable binaries in untar.c, we also have similar issue with first pre-coreutils cp. It also does not preserve executable bit. But we have pre-coreutils chmod to deal with that <oriansj>and I believe rekado would be the one who is able to update the site. <stikonas>ok, I've sent a patch to replace it in mes ***qyliss is now known as ^_^

<Melg8>HI, any news on fossy's online?) <Melg8>i just want to get feedback on my pr) <fossy>It is getting late here. But it is now on my todo list for first thing tomorrow morning. <oriansj>screw it, I am jsut going to add --blood to get_machine so that clunky logic for determining what flags you need to pass to blood-elf is just a solved problem. ***Noisytoot is now known as [[

<mihi>FTR, when autojoining #bootstrappable on Freenode, I saw the topic and that I was immediately banned, but no ENTRYMSG. (MLOCK +m might have been a bit more friendly instead) *mihi still would like if whoever has access to that znc on bayfront-log could copy the old logfiles back, like they did for #guix :) <stikonas>yeah, I get the same issue on the old channel, it's probably a bit too strict ***jackhill is now known as KM4MBG
