<Hagfish>an untrusted compiler compiling trusted source produces an untrusted binary, but a non-reproducibly-built compiler compiling a reproducibly buildable source produces a reproducible binary
<Hagfish>if that makes sense
<Hagfish>i'm saying that bootstrappability is a harder problem than reproducibility, because problems at any stage have to be assumed to "infect" later stages
<OriansJ>fossy: well changing untar.c to do exactly what you want untar to do; is sort of the nice thing about having the source code simple enough to know how it works; really easy to change...
<gforce_d11977>for fun: work-in-progress, but something is wrong 8-) http://intercity-vpn.de/bootstrap/memplot-memhack24-999M.png
<melg8>@gforce_d11977 really like your graphs !)
<OriansJ>I am really going to have to get to work on the M3 linker and assembler; so that RISC-V developers stop trying to make hex2 a work based linker/shitty assembler to support their too clever by half (brain dead) instruction encoding.
<OriansJ>^work^word^
<gforce_d11977>OriansJ: but today is mothers day, so there is no work allowed 8-)
