<lfam>Does anyone know the status of the core-updates build?
<lfam>Since the bugs appear to have been introduced after the version of libarchive on the master branch, I think that no immediate action is required. But, we should be careful to patch the bugs or upgrade libarchive to 3.2.1 (possibly with a graft) before merging core-updates into master.

<mckinley_>I'm trying to use guix import nix; first invoking it, I get `error: Nix database directory ‘/nix/var/nix/db’ is not writable: No such file or directory`. Invoking `nix-instantiate` creates the /nix directory (I'm not sure I should do that); after, invoking `guix import nix`, I get `error: removed 2016-02-29 because unused and broken`
<mckinley_>I'm a little stuck at this point. I do have NIX_REMOTE=daemon, as mentioned in the docs
<mark_weaver>mckinley_: our nix importer hasn't been modified since 2013, and I've not heard of it being used in recent years. it might very well be broken.
<mark_weaver>can you email bug-guix@gnu.org about it?
<lfam>mark_weaver: I noticed that you grafted libxslt on core-updates. It's strange that it was needed because I updated libxslt on core-updates with 28b33172c. But, I have noticed things like that happening when merging master into core-updates.
<lfam>It makes me worried that we are not noticing other weird things like that
<lfam>Losing updates, patches, etc
<mark_weaver>lfam: I didn't graft libxslt on core-updates. I grafted it on master, and then immediately merged to core-updates to ensure that removing the graft wouldn't be forgotten.
<lfam>I have to go now. I will start an email thread on guix-devel asking for advice on this subject later today, unless somebody beats me to it :)
<mark_weaver>lfam: I just fetched the latest, and it seems that libxslt is not grafted on core-updates
<mark_weaver>am I missing something?
<mark_weaver>it'

<phant0mas>rekado: I managed to cross-build linux for an arm board with your arm-none-eabi toolchain
<phant0mas>it seems to work
<phant0mas>now I will try to build something using newlib

<lfam>mark_weaver: You're right, I was missing something. libxslt looks fine on core-updates. I tried to say this yesterday but I don't think it went through

<rekado>sneek later tell phant0mas Oh, that’s good. The Axoloti uses newlib and while I think the compiler works fine, linking with newlib only *appears* to be fine.
<sneek>Got it.
<rekado>sneek later tell phant0mas (at least that’s my suspicion)
<sneek>Got it.
<rekado>sneek: botsnack!
<sneek>:)
<rekado>has anyone here have a WIP package for libreboot?
<rekado>the non-standard build scripts are a bit off-putting
<rekado>today we successfully read out the lenovo BIOS on my x200s, tomorrow we’ll try to write the libreboot image to the chip
