<jmd>I don't understand why it would be even noticed, since it is not in gnu-system.am
<mark_weaver>that only affects what "make" does. guix looks in all <DIR>/gnu/package/*.scm files, where <DIR> is in your guile load path.
<jmd>So what is make needed for?
<mark_weaver>well, 'make' is needed to build the .go files and install everything.
<mark_weaver>for users who don't want to run out of their git source tree.
<jmd>Oh. So if I'm doing it from git, I don't actually need it?
<mark_weaver>well, you still need to build some other things, but you don't strictly need to build the .go files using "make". guile will automatically build them and put them in ~/.cache/guile/ccache/
<civodul>'night people!

<civodul>oops
*civodul was committing in the wrong branch
<jmd>It's easy to do.
<jmd>It would be useful to have an option like -K which kept the build directory even if successfull
<civodul>hmm, dunno
