<zimoun>hi!
<zimoun>nckx: about Git vs Tarball, aside what civodul said about Disarchive, SWh is considering the addition of NAR checksum somewhere in their data model. https://forge.softwareheritage.org/T4538
<zimoun>Without starting such discussion about Git vs Tarball, to me, the main blocker is currently libgit2 which does not support shallow clone.
<nckx>Thanks, I wasn't aware of that plan.
<civodul>zimoun: what do shallow clones have to do with preservation?
<zimoun>civodul, nothing. I just think that Git would be better than Tarball; fixing many issues; but the lack of shallow clone makes Git not an option at large, IMHO.
<civodul>ok
<rekado>ACTION updates CRAN packages again…
<zimoun>civodul, PurpleSym1: fine for publishing the CRAN blog post today?
<civodul>zimoun: i wouldn't mind waiting till the end of the week, to avoid publishing everything on the same day
<civodul>after months of silence
<civodul>:-)
<civodul>WDYT?
<PurpleSym1>Ah, today’s the big day? 1.4.0?
<PurpleSym1>Waiting is fine for me.

<zimoun>civodul: cool!
<zimoun>Indeed, maybe not today. :-)
<lagash>Noisytoot: is there a policy page for that? I'm curious.
<Noisytoot>lagash: There was, but the policy was reverted and it got deleted.
